Prepare Episode for Advertising
Producers can specify locations within episodes, in which advertising can optionally appear. For example, after the host introduces the show and before he or she introduces the first guest, the producer may specify that that point is a potential slot for advertising. Advertising slots are numbered 1, 2, 3, etc. In addition, LibsynPRO recognizes “Preroll” and “Postroll” advertising slots for possible ad insertion before and after the episode. Note: Producers can specify whether shows will accept advertising or not.
A producer can refer to this 'check list' when preparing an episode for advertising inserts. By maintaining consistency in form between your episode and an advertisement or series of advertisements, you can ensure capability within the Libsyn system. For example:
Make sure Channels match. If the ad inserts were recorded in Mono, then your episode should be recorded in Mono (or converted to Mono after recording). If ad inserts are recorded in Stereo, then your episode should be recorded in Stereo.
Make sure Bit Rate matches. If the ad inserts were encoded at a certain bit rate (ie, 128 kbit/s), then your episode should be encoded at the same bit rate.
If you discover that your episode's media file is not compatible with an ad, you can make any needed changes to your file in your favorite audio editing program, and then re-upload the file to the LibsynPro system by following the instructions listed on the LibsynPro modifying existing episode wiki page.
