5. Administrator Functions
Once you select the Network Admin Workflow button from the LibsynPRO welcome screen, you'll get the Network Admin welcome screen:
You can click the box in the lower left “Do not show this screen on next login” if you prefer to bypass the welcome screen in the future and proceed to the workflow screen.
Some things to notice on this Admin workflow screen:
- Across the top left of the screen are the main Administrator functions: Network, Manage, Statistics, and Advertising. (note: some functions may not appear if the user does not have permission for that function)
- At the top right of the screen, in a lighter color, are functions common to all of the main functions: Admin (edit your settings), ? (help file), P (switch to Producer Mode; see Section 6 below), and Logout.
5.1 User Management
5.2 Show Management
5.3 Release an Episode (Quality Control)
Once a Publisher has uploaded an Episode of a Show, it will need to be released to allow Consumers to access it. Some Producers may have permission to release Episodes that they Publish (See Section 5.1.3). Other Producers may not have that permission, in which case another User will need to release the Episode. In LibsynPRO, this is called Quality Control, or QC, since it allows an organization to have media approved before it is released to Consumers.
Either an Admin or a Producer can release an Episode, if they have the correct permission. To release an Episode you must have either the Administrator “Allow user to release other producers content (QC) ” or the Publisher “Allow user to release episode” permission (See Section 5.1.3).
At the top of the Administrator Workflow screen click the “Manage” button and then click the “Episodes (QC)” tab. Under “Episode Management,” you will see a list of Shows in your Network that you have access to that are waiting to be released. For example:

If there are more than 10 Shows, you can scroll through them with the buttons on the bottom of the table. You can delete Shows or edit them; to Release a Show, edit it by either double-clicking the Show or clicking the
icon next to it.
Once you edit a Show that is waiting to be Released, you will get a screen with information on that Show. You can double check to make sure the Producer of the Show specified the correct options for things such as the Title, Rating, release dates, and whether the Show will accept dynamic advertising.
The media file associated with the Show will be available as a link. You can preview the file to make sure the content is suitable for Release to Consumers by clicking on the link on the screen.
After reviewing the Show options and content, you can either Release the Show, or Decline to Release it and send it back to the Producer for changes. To Release the Show to Consumers, click on the Release button:

If you feel that the Producer needs to change the Show options or content, you can Decline the Show:

However, before you Decline the Show, it is recommended that you type a message to the Producer, explaining why you have decided to not Release the Show:

Type your message to the Producer in the box, and then click the Decline button. This will send a message to the Producer to make your desired changes, after which he or she can resubmit it to your for approval for Release. It is possible for the Release process to take several iterations of submissions by the Producer before it is approved for Release.
5.4 Advertising Management
5.5 Network Management
Network Management functions include a quick dashboard view of important information, as well as the ability to change Network setting. In the Administrator Workflow, click on the “Network” button in the upper left of the screen. You will get a welcome screen with two tabs: Dashboard and Settings.
5.5.1 Dashboard view
Clicking on the Dashboard tab brings you to a screen that displays handy information for Administrators. There are three sections: A Network Statistics chart, a Message Inbox, and a list of Recent Activity on the Network.
The Network Statistics section shows a graph of downloads on the Network over the last 30 days. [IS THIS NUMER OF DOWNLOADS OR MB OR WHAT? IS THERE A SCALE?] At the bottom of the chart there are quick links to get more statistics on the Network, Shows, or Episodes. Using these links, you can get more customized statistics than shown on the dashboard; see Section 5.6.
The Message Inbox displays messages to the Administrator. Some of them may be messages from other Users, for example Producers asking information about their Shows. Other messages are system-generated, for example to tell you that an episode has been Produced and is waiting to be Released. To view a message, double click on it.
The Recent Activity on the Network sections is a table of recently added or edited Episodes. To view information about an Episode, click on the
icon next to it.
5.5.2 Network Settings
Clicking on the “Settings” tab of the Network screen allows you to change basic information about your Network. This option appears only if the User has permission to modify Network Settings (See Section 5.1.3). Warning: Do not change this information unless you’re sure you know what you’re doing! Changes to Network Settings could prevent Consumers from being able to access Shows.
Fields you can change include:
Network Title—The name of your Network, a required field. The Title is very important in letting Consumers find your Shows in directory aggregators such as Apple’s iTunes and Microsoft’s Zune.
Network Subdomain/Slug— This is a subdomain name within LibsynPROthat is unique to your network, and is also a required field. This subdomain, or the Custom Network Domain (below) are used by Consumers to access your Shows, either by URL or by RSS feed.
Custom Network Domain—This optional field allows you to specify a custom domain for Consumers to access the URLS for your Shows.
Media Domain— This optional field allows you to specify a custom domain for Consumers to access the URLS for your Shows.
Network Image—You can upload an image file to be your visual representation in LibsynPRO. (IS THIS TRUE? OR IS THE IMAGE USED BY directory agreggators?]
